ERCOT panel favors winter inspection fee plan, generation reinstatement proposal

A key Electric Reliability Council of Texas stakeholder panel on Nov. 17rejected a generator winterization inspection fee schedule proposed bystaff in favor of allocating the actual costs as fees for all generatorsgenerally on a “Net Dependable Capability” share basis.However, an ERCOT staff proposal to expedite the return to serviceof generation capacity that has been retired less than three yearsreceived support by the majority during the Nov. 17 Protocol RevisionSubcommittee, which staff was told will result in additional capacityfor the coming 2021-22 winter peak.
