More than a million electricity customers were left without poweraround 1 pm CT Sept. 1 as the remnants of Hurricane Ida continuedfrom its initial landfall in Louisiana into the Northeastern US, but progress was made Louisiana.Utility websites showed more than 13,000 customers inPennsylvania were left in the dark as the storm wrought havoc alongthe Atlantic Seaboard from Maryland to New York. The NationalHurricane Center said the storm threatens flash flooding fromPhiladelphia and Washington DC to Boston, with maximum sustainedwinds of 30 mph.
