Frozen wind turbines in Texas could prove costly for project owners

Wind turbines are not responsible for the energy crisis that has left millions of Texans in the cold and dark. But their owners may suffer financial consequences anyway. When Texas energy regulators warned on Feb. 14 that plunging temperatures were driving up electricity demand just as an Arctic blast was crippling power plants, the state's wind farms were generating as much electricity as they had in the days before the Texas power grid was on the brink of crisis.
