US Northeast power prices continue to climb as winter weather deepens

NYISO prices on Jan. 28 traded higher than 2020 levels as coldtemperatures in the region were forecast to drop by double digits.Northeast power prices for Jan. 29 delivery continued to rise fromthe day before levels as the US National Weather Service forecast snowto spread as well as temperatures to tumble further. Bostontemperatures were forecast to drop 18 degrees below average to 19Fahrenheit; New York City was set to drop 16 degrees to 24 F,according to Custom Weather.
