MISO’s wind capacity, output up more than 30% in fall months of 2020: market monitor report

The Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s installed wind capacity and output grew at 33% and 30%, respectively, in the fall months of 2020 versus the fall of 2019, according to data released by MISO’s market monitor Potomac Economics in its Fall 2020 report. Wind set the price of power in 85% of constrained market intervals, and more than half of real-time congestion was related to wind, the report said.
