摘要

The Missouri Public Service Commission has opened a proceeding to determine the long-term benefits of the state's investor-owned electric utilities' continued membership in a regional transmission organization. The Midcontinent ISO and the Southwest Power Pool oversee bulk electric grids and wholesale power markets across much of the central U.S. MISO's and SPP's service territories span all or part of 15 and 14 Midwestern states, respectively, with nine, including Missouri, that are common to both. All of Missouri's investor-owned utilities belong to one, or both, of those RTOs.
