摘要

With legislators, communications regulators and even the White House weighing in on the need to protect US companies and institutions from supply chain risk, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Sept. 17 pitched a series of questions to the regulated power sector to gauge potential risks to the bulk electric system posed by equipment and services from entities seen as national security threats, and how FERC may need to address those risks. Supply chain risks for the power sector are garnering increasing attention as an executive order issued in May seeks to crack down on cybersecurity threats posed by bulk power system equipment supplied by foreign adversaries, and the power sector prepares to implement in October new supply chain risk-management plans and other cybersecurity protocols.
