PJM's board urged to sanction Exelon, subsidiaries over ComEd bribery admissions

The PJM Interconnection's board of managers is being encouraged to sanction Exelon Corporation and all of its companies participating in the regional transmission organization after subsidiary Commonwealth Edison Co. acknowledged responsibility for a series of actions outlined in federal bribery charges. In a Sept. 14 letter addressed to the board, Public Citizen and the Union of Concerned Scientists argued Exelon and its subsidiaries should have their voting rights in the PJM stakeholder process suspended for the duration of a three-year deferred prosecution agreement in which ComEd agreed to pay a $200 million criminal fine for seeking to influence Illinois legislation.
