MISO to end capacity advisory for South region on Friday

The Midcontinent Independent System Operator will end a capacityadvisory for maximum generation in its South region on Friday, ascurrent tight market conditions were expected to moderate over thenext few days, the grid operator said Tuesday.MISO said it will end its current capacity advisory in its South regionon 10 pm EDT Friday, as the regional capacity continued to improvewith the return of several key generators.Additionally, MISO also expected capacity margins for the weekendto increase above 5%, one of the threshold for issuing a capacityadvisory if the capacity margin dips below that.MISO firstly issued the capacity advisory late last week, effectivefrom Monday morning until late Wednesday, but has extended the endtime to be until further notice, calling for market participants to beprepared to implement and follow the emergency procedures.
