ERCOT North Hub spot spikes $32 on higher demand in first sign of summer

Electric Reliability Council of Texas power dailies spiked Monday in thefirst sign of summer pricing, on higher spot gas prices with powerdemand expected to reach the highest level in nearly a year.In ERCOT, North Hub on-peak day-ahead jumped $32 to trade inthe upper $60s/MWh for Tuesday delivery on the IntercontinentalExchange, the highest price this season to date. In comparison,on-peak prices last July spiked above $400/MWh and averaged in theupper $100s/MWh.
