PJM West Hub spot down $1.75 on lower power demand

Mid-Atlantic and Midcontinent power dailies were weaker Monday on lower power-demand projections. In the PJM Interconnection footprint, PJM West Hub on-peak dayahead shed $1.75 to trade in the low $20s/MWh for Tuesday delivery on the Intercontinental Exchange. NI Hub on-peak also lost $1.50 to trade in the low $20s/MWh, while AD Hub on-peak fell $1.25 to trade in the low $20s/MWh. PJM forecast peakload to decrease 2.3% to about 99,700 MW Tuesday from 102,050 MW Monday. High temperatures across the PJM footprint were forecast at a range from the mid-70s to low 80s Fahrenheit for Monday, within 7 degrees of seasonal normal, according to CustomWeather. PJM West Hub and AD Hub on-peak balance-of-the-day both traded in the low $20s/MWh on ICE, about $2.25 and $1.75 below where the day-ahead traded for Monday, respectively. In the Midcontinent ISO footprint, Indiana Hub on-peak moved down about $2 to be valued in the mid-$20s/MWh.
