Northeast spot electricity prices gained Tuesday, as expectations of cooler weather pushed demand higher. In the New York Independent System Operator footprint, day-ahead on-peak prices mostly rose on the day. Zone J day-ahead on-peak stayed even, hovering around $16.55/MWh. However, Zone G day-ahead on-peak stepped up about 60 cents, trading around $17.45/MWh. Zone A West Hub day-ahead on-peak jumped the highest, increasing about $10 to trade at $18.60/MWh.
