ERCOT North Hub tumbles on lower demand, stronger wind output

Next-day power prices in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas fell 83% Thursday on expectations of lower demand and higher wind generation. ERCOT North Hub day-ahead on-peak plunged $200.75 to trade in the low $40s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange for Friday delivery. On Friday, ERCOT system-wide peakload is forecast to fall 4% to around 64,285 MW, according to grid operator data.
