In 2018, he made goodon a promise to make storage a top priority and oversaw the issuanceof Order 841 (AD16-20, RM16-23), a directive aimed at lifting barriers toelectric storage resources' participation in the wholesale markets.That order is paving the way for “a positive regulatory construct forfuture storage development,” Energy Storage Association CEO KellySpeakes-Backman told S&P Global Platts. The impacts of wholesalemarket entry would likely be felt over the medium term, she added.
