West cash prices slip amid declining demand outlook

US West natural gas spot prices continued to weaken Friday amid warmer-than-average temperatures and a diminishing demand outlook. Colorado Interstate Gas Mainline fell 3 cents day on day to $2.27/ MMBtu, while Northwest Wyoming Pool declined 6 cents to $2.52/ MMBtu for flows over the weekend through Monday. Looking to the Southwest, Kern River Delivered added 8 cents day on day to $2.73/MMBtu, while Southern California Gas city-gate shed 23 cents day on day to $3.34/MMBtu. The National Weather Service forecast called for high temperatures in Seattle to be about 56 degrees Fahrenheit Saturday through Monday, 5 degrees higher than the five-year average for the same days, while high temperatures in Los Angeles were expected to be near 90 degrees on the same days, 20 degrees higher than the five-year average during the first half of November.
