MISO makes new pitch for recovery of interconnection facility O&M costs

Midcontinent Independent System Operator has again asked for theFederal Energy Regulatory Commission’s nod on tariff changes thatwould allow transmission owners in the region to recover reasonablecosts from generators for the operation, maintenance and repair offacilities that interconnect their power projects to the grid.Generator interconnection agreements in MISO specify thatinterconnection customers will be on the hook for O&M expensesassociated with transmission owners’ interconnection facilities, butMISO’s tariff currently lacks a mechanism for the calculation andrecovery of those expenses from the responsible interconnectioncustomers.
