Trump taps Brouillette for top spot at DOE, as Perry formally resigns

President Donald Trump said Friday he plans to nominate Energy Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette to take the helm at the department when Secretary Rick Perry steps down later this year. Like Perry, Brouillette has been a big proponent of energy exports, often pointing to how booming oil and gas production has changed the global energy markets and geopolitics. Before joining DOE, Brouillette had been senior vice president and head of public policy for USAA Insurance Group and a vice president at Ford Motor.
