Mid-Atlantic, Midwest spot power prices tumble with weak demand

Mid-Atlantic and Midwest spot power prices dropped Thursday, as demand is expected to fall heading into the weekend. In the Mid-Atlantic, PJM West Hub on-peak fell nearly $1.75, but remained in the upper $40s/MWh for Friday delivery on the Intercontinental Exchange. PJM West Hub on-peak weekend packages were traded on ICE in the mid-$30s/MWh, while on-peak next-week packages were trading in the upper $30s/MWh.
