NRC approves 20-MW power uprate for Energy Northwest’s Columbia

When Energy Northwest restarts Columbia in Washington state later this month, the reactor will have NRC approval for additional 20 MW of capacity, putting it at 1,210 MW. NRC said in a statement May 31 it had approved EN’s request to increase Columbia’s generating capacity by 1.7%, noting that the increase is primarily the result of more accurate means of measuring feedwater flow.
