NRC approves 1.6% power uprate for Dominion Energy’s Millstone-3

NRC has approved a request by a Dominion Energy subsidiary toincrease the capacity of the 1,276-MW Millstone-3 in Connecticut byabout 20 MW, or 1.6%, NRC said in a statement Nov. 18.Agency staff “determined that Dominion could safely increase thereactor’s heat output, primarily through more accurate means ofmeasuring feedwater flow,” NRC said.
