Ex-senators Kerrey, Garn chair panel reviewing revenue collections at MMS

A panel co-chaired by former Senators Bob Kerrey and Jake Garn will review mineral revenue collections practices at the Minerals Management Service, in response to congressional complaints that MMS has mismanaged the effort and amid an almost identical Government Accountability Office probe. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne announced last week that Kerrey, a Nebraska Democrat, and Garn, a Utah Republican, would lead the panel, which was appointed by the Interior Department's Royalty Policy Committee.
