PacifiCorp subsidiary Rocky Mountain Power has received regulatory approval for an average 6.4%, $11.5 million rate hike for its 67,000 Idaho customers, but it is 40% less than the utility requested.rnRocky Mountain Power in a June general rate filing had sought an $18.5 million, 10.3% increase that would go into effect January 1. But the amount was reduced in a settlementrnreached last fall with stakeholders and the staff of the Public Utilities Commission.rnStakeholders included the Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association, the Community Action Partnership of Idaho and customers Monsanto and Agrium.rnRocky Mountain Power said the rate increase is needed to meet higher costs for fuel, labor and transmission wheeling and to cover additional investment in generation, transmission and distribution.
