ExxonMobil, Chevron see 2021 capex lower than expected; higher spend seen in Q4, next year

Chevron's and ExxonMobil's respective capital budgets for 2021 areexpected to tilt toward the lesser end of previous guidance, their topexecutives said Oct. 29, despite higher oil prices since the companiesfirst set those budgets.And they expect higher spending in the fourth quarter, as well as in2022 and the next few years after that, their respective chief financial officers said in separate third-quarter earnings calls.
