Industrials group points to winter gas price increase to push for limits on US LNG exports

Seizing on higher US natural gas prices expected this winter, a group ofindustrial manufacturers is making a pitch for the Department ofEnergy to limit LNG exports and put a hold on some pending exportproject authorizations.“We urge you to take immediate action under the Natural Gas Actto prevent a supply crisis and price spikes for consumers this winter byrequiring LNG exporters to reduce export rates ... to allow USinventories to reach the five-year average storage levels,” the IndustrialEnergy Consumers of America wrote in a Sept. 17 letter to EnergySecretary Jennifer Granholm.
