Devon to sell Canadian oil assets to Canadian Natural Resources

In the first step of its plan to transition into a US oil growth business,Devon Energy is divesting its Canadian business to Canadian NaturalResources, the company said Wednesday.Devon's Canadian portfolio is composed of heavy oil assetsprincipally located in Alberta. Canadian Natural, already the largestproducer of heavy crude in Canada, will gain an estimated 113,000barrels of oil equivalent per day, and proved reserves of about 409million barrels of oil, from the $2.8 billion deal.
