Cash prices in New England were mixed in trading Friday, with cooler temperatures expected to hit the region over the weekend, and scheduled maintenance works prolonged on TETCO M-3. Algonquin city-gates rose almost 2 cents to settle at $4.22/MMBtu for next-day flows. Iroquois Zone 2 prices increased dramatically by almost 80 cents to settle at $3.625/MMBtu for next-day flows. TETCO M-3 fell almost 36 cents to settle at $2.085/MMBtu, which could be due to Texas Eastern prolonging its southbound restriction along the 30-inch-diameter mainline. Texas Eastern released a notice on Thursday that revised its scheduled maintenance works that will prolong capacity restriction on southbound flows. Rather than flows being restricted through December 6 as originally scheduled, it was prolonged until December 8. In the production region, prices decreased, with Dominion South falling almost 9 cents to settle at $1.725/MMbtu for next-day flows. Total Northeast demand was forecast by Platts Analytics to jump more than 1 Bcf Saturday to a total of 27.4 Bcf/d, mainly due to the weather cooling over the weekend. With cooler weather expected, residential-commerical demand was the bulk of the demand increase, reaching 16.1 Bcf Saturday from 14.9 Bcf Friday.
