West cash gas prices fluctuate amid mixed temperature outlook

US West natural gas spot prices saw modest gains and losses Wednesday amid a mixed outlook for temperatures. Cheyenne Hub declined 3 cents day on day to $1.98/MMBtu, while Colorado Interstate Gas Mainline rose 2 cents to $1.98/MMBtu for next-day flows. The mixed price movements came amid the National Weather Service's forecast of normal to above-average temperatures across much of the US Pacific Northwest and the Southwest over the next six to 10 days. Temperatures across much of the region were set to be 3 to 4 degrees above seasonal norms Thursday.
