NRG Energy plans to mothball 385-MW gas plant in South Texas

NRG Energy has notified the Electric Reliability Council of Texas that itintends to suspend operations at its 385-MW Gregory Power plant,north of Corpus Christi, beginning October 17, after restarting the plantin June for what was expected to be a tight power supply situation.Late Friday, ERCOT notified market participants of the intention toplace the plant in mothball status for the year round, except forseasonal operation for the months of June through September.
