Kinder Morgan sees first-quarter profit boost on strong natural gas volumes

Kinder Morgan posted a more than 14% jump in first-quarter profit Wednesday amid strength in natural gas transport volumes, demand from Mexico and the leverage from its extensive North American midstream network. The results were released as the Houston-based company looks to build further growth with the addition of two new pipelines serving the Permian Basin in West Texas and an LNG export terminal in Georgia.
