Southeast natural gas prices see varied movement for Tuesday flows

US Southeast and East Texas natural gas spot prices saw mixed movement in trading Monday, with demand in the region projected to pace near the levels averaged over the weekend. S&P Global Platts Analytics projects Southeast demand to be nearly 19 Bcf Tuesday, in line with the around 19 Bcf/d averaged over the three days that consisted of weekend flows. The Platts preliminary Henry Hub spot price experienced a 2.50- cent loss for Tuesday flows, sliding to $2.72/MMBtu, the fourth consecutive trading session that the Louisiana benchmark has traded below the $3/MMBtu threshold. Through January thus far, the Henry Hub spot price has paced below the monthly mark settled in Platts January bidweek trading, averaging $2.88/MMBtu month to date, down from the $3.65/MMBtu monthly January price.
