Tangguh LNG nears completion

In developing the Tangguh LNG project in Indonesian Papua, BP has clearly learnt fromnthe mistakes of earlier, controversial natural resource projects in the area. Creatingnindependent mechanisms for accountability, providing local benefits, steering clear ofnIndonesian domestic politics, and minimizing the role of the military, have all beenncritical to a project which means as much to Jakarta as it does to BP.
