EU carbon prices rally as crude oil sets new highs

EU emission allowances rallied in the month to mid-nJune, setting fresh two-year highs as record crude pricesnspurred higher values for gas, power and coal. Decembern2008 EUA prices hit an intra-day peak of €28.45/mtn($44.36) on the European Climate Exchange on June 9,na two-year high. Values then stabilized to trade broadly inna range of €26.50-27.80/mt for the period to June 17.
