Vietnam stopped trade in coal across its border withnChina from June 1, according to China’s Ministry ofnCommerce. According to a MOC statement, Vietnam’sncoal exports now have to be conducted as standardninternational trade and be declared at customs at CamnPha port and Cai Lan port. Traders had previously beennable to export to China through the border regions withnChina’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region andnGuangdong Province without declaring at Vietnam’sncustoms. Vietnam also raised the export tax on coalnfrom 15% to 20% effective June 18.
