US nuclear MWh costs rise

The average cost of generating a US nuclear megawatthour,nincluding operations, fuel and capital, has risennabout $4/MWh in the five years from 2003 to 2007 withnabout half the increase due to operations andnmaintenance and half due to capital spending, accordingnto industry data analyzed by the Electric Utility CostnGroup. Fuel accounted for only 4% of the increase in thenperiod, which was slightly higher than inflation.
