Hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles could reducenEurope’s total oil consumption from the road transportnsector by 40% between now and 2050, according to annew EU-backed study. The report assumes that 80% ofnconventional vehicles will be replaced by hydrogennvehicles by 2050, with total savings of about 100 millionnmt of oil equivalent possible over the 42-year period.
