Iran's growing gas deficit has prompted the country to turn to international investors via a €1 billion ($1.4 billion) bond issue to help finance development of its massive South Pars gas field. "Issuance of the bonds is expected to be finalized in two months," according to Mohammad Hassan Mousavizadeh, a senior adviser to Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company, speaking to the oil ministry news agency Shana. The government will have to approve the terms of the bond issue before the process can be launched, but state oil giant the National Iranian Oil Company has already given POGC permission to issue the bonds, he said.
