Mexican state oil company PEMEX aims to return crude production to 3 million b/d of crude in the medium term, according to Director-General Jesus Reyes Heroles. PEMEX last produced 3 million b/d in September 2007. Since then, output has dwindled to 2.66 million b/d. Reyes Heroles was addressing the Mexican International Petroleum Congress in the Gulf port of Veracruz in June. He offered no timeline for achieving the 3 million b/d, nor where the increased output would come from.
