Regulated French gas prices squeeze supplier negotiations

French gas major GDF Suez has begun new price talks with Russian producer Gazprom, GDF's executive vice president Jean-Marie Dauger said at an industry conference in Tokyo in September. It was announced earlier in the month that the French government would increase gas tariffs to households by 2% from October, 5 percentage points below the rise requested by GDF Suez.
