OPEC's challenges

Regardless of the rise in non-OPEC output to 2018, OPEC's role in the oil market will remain decisive. It is losing market share to non-OPEC producers and to demand destruction. It also faces an internal realignment of forces. As the supply/demand balance moves in consumers' favour, the burden of restraint will fall almost solely on Saudi Arabia, but the Kingdom has the financial capacity to weather tough times.
