Is Brazil facing an energy crisis? The vulnerability of the country's natural gas-fired back-up system has been exposed once again. Long-term security of electricity supply is dependent on greater diversification of generation sources and more efficient delivery of transmission infrastructure, while localization could reduce dependence on long distance power lines.
