China approves coal pricing reform

China's State Council has approved a thermal coal pricing reform, which will replace the annual key coal contracts set by the National Development and Reform Commission with medium or long-term contracts negotiated between miners and Independent Power Producers, according to reports by China's state media, including the China Securities Journal in December.
