Constitution project clears US environmental hurdle

Adverse environmental impacts from Constitution Pipeline’s plan to build a 124-mile pipeline to meet gas demand in New York and New England would be “lessthan- significant”, if certain mitigation measures are implemented, FERC staff said in a final environmental impact statement released in October. The Constitution Pipeline Project, in conjunction with the Wright Interconnect Project proposed by Iroquois Gas Transmission System, would deliver up to 650,000 Dt/d of gas from Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, to an interconnect with Tennessee Gas Pipeline and Iroquois systems in Wright, New York, for ultimate delivery into premium New York and New England markets.
