Ukraine separatists disrupt coal production

Ukraine's coal-mining sector faces shutdowns and economic losses, owing to continued fighting with pro- Russian separatists in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, according to DTEK, the country's largest mining and power group. DTEK issued a statement a day after the separatists attacked Komsomolets Donbassa, one of the largest coal mines in Ukraine, detaining the coal mine's top management and confiscating assets, including coal miners' monthly pay, 22 vehicles and office equipment.
