Mubadala confirms major Malaysian gas discoveries

Abu Dhabi's state-owned Mubadala Petroleum said in June that two recent gas discoveries offshore Malaysia's Sarawak state have been confirmed to be substantial prospects with significant commercial potential. The Pegaga-2 appraisal well in block SK320 was drilled to a total depth of 2,685 meters (8,809 feet) and confirmed an 850 m gas column, Mubadala said, adding that testing of the main gas-bearing zones produced flow rates of 30-50 MMcf/d of good quality gas with condensate. The Pegaga find was made last year and lies in 109 m of water.
