Price reforms stimulate Chinese gas market

Gas demand in China is roaring ahead, jumping 15.4% in 2013. Imports are growing quicker than domestic production and price reform is gradually removing the lossmaking difference between import prices and domestic tariffs. Private companies are keen to compete with the state giants, seeking their own independent LNG supplies and expanding to meet demand from the rapidly growing Natural Gas Vehicle sector.
