Impending exemptions from a Dutch coal tax for new, more efficient, coal-fired power plants is worth €4 billion ($4.24 billion) to the operators of applicable plants over the life time of a plant, Dutch utility Delta said in March. The company said the measure would benefits those with newer assets, enabling them to significantly reduce variable costs.
