In an attempt to stem, and reverse, the fall in oil pricesrnsince mid-2014, OPEC members agreed to implement fromrnJanuary 1 this year production cuts totaling 1.2 million b/drnfrom the organization’s October 2016 output level. This wasrnbacked by an agreement with a coalition of non-OPECrnproducers that they would reduce their own output byrn558,000 b/d, over the first half of the year, with Russiarncontributing 300,000 b/d.
