WIND PROSPECTS ATTRACTING FOREIGN INVESTMENT

Despite the legal and regulatory complications, India’s push forrnwind is attracting substantial foreign investment. Saudi Arabia’srnAbraaj and France’s Engie announced in September that theyrnwould jointly develop wind energy in the country saying they hadrn“identified a robust pipeline of wind power projects representingrnover 1 GW in several key states”. This follows Abraaj’s experience ofrnworking with Aditya Birla group of India to build a 1 GW solar energyrnplatform in the country.
