French electricity transmission system operator RTE and its Belgian counterpart Elia have created a joint regional technical coordination center, the companies said December 19.rnThe newly incorporated Coordination of Electricity System Operators, or Coreso, will start operating on February 16, 2009. The TSOs announced in September that they would set up a joint venture to support regional integration.rn"The purpose of the joint venture is to house the first regional technical coordination center to be shared by several TSOs in the Central Western European (CWE) region," the TSOs said. "Its main aim is to enable better regional integration of renewable generation and to guarantee safe management of cross-border flows, which are increasing sharply with the development of intraday markets."
