The uncomfortable reality of low power prices, weak demand growth and expensive gas contracts has forced E.ON to adopt a new strategy that appears to contain a significant degree of execution risk.rnThe German utility is looking to sell €15 billion of assets, focus on non-regulated activities in Europe, grow its international business and renegotiate its long term gas contracts.rnThe 'less capital, more value' strategy presented by chief executive Johannes Teyssen on November 9 aims at delivering €600 million in annual efficiency savings by 2013, over and above the €1.5 billion savings identified in the current 'Perform to Win' program.
